Happy birthday Papa Bear

Last week was Kevin's 28th birthday. We had a very nice week which ended in a family party on Sunday where Kevin unwrapped his new iPhone! (By the way, I used to subscribe to the theory that a phone is just a phone, but let me tell you, this thing is so cool that it totally justifies spending our kid's first year college tuition to buy it. (Just kidding. Though, thanks to all the family members who dipped into their retirement accounts to make this dream a reality.)

This is him looking suspiciously at me because I had wrapped it up in a big box with some heavy books to throw him off. Because I'm sneaky that way.

Later, we all went outside and Uncle Kenny and Aunt Kerry proved that no matter how incredibly dorky her parents are:

this kid still has a fighting chance thanks to the overwhelming coolness of them both. Case in point:

I wonder if they make leather jackets in size 0-3 months?

p.s. I can't wait to chaperone at our kids' dances

It's a girl!

Say hello to our beautiful baby girl!

Kevin and I went to the doctor's office this morning and received the wonderful news. She is very active and I'm pretty sure the ultrasound technician actually used the word "ornery" to describe her when she wouldn't get into the right position for a certain view she needed. Boy, is Kevin in for it.

On the left is her head, and she is sucking her thumb. And either I ate a whole turkey drumstick in my sleep last night, or that is her fat little leg on the right. Either one is quite possible.

Fortune cookie say...

I found this in my fortune cookie last night.

I always knew that the cream cheese wontons at Pick-Up-Stix held some kind of delicious, ancient Chinese wisdom, but this is unbelievable.
